From protecting scientists in the lab working with samples of new materials, to the environment surrounding our facilities, to toxicological and environmental safety studies required for registration we strive to meet the highest safety standards.

To satisfy the needs of our growing world population, we focus on discovery and development of greener and more sustainable solutions, further developing our capability in targeted delivery systems, and fully meeting our compliance obligations. For our efforts, Dow AgroSciences has won three coveted Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards from the US Environmental Protection Agency.

• Recipient of three Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards
  • Our molt-accelerating class of insecticides (insect growth regulators)
  • Spinosad insecticides. The Naturalyte* class of insect control products – these are produced by fermentation of a naturally-occurring microorganism
  • Sentricon* Colony Elimination System. For termite colony elimination – this is a baiting system, completely contained underground and active ingredient is used only when termites are present
• Recipient of a Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award for development of a methyl bromide alternative fumigant for use in crops (strawberries and vegetables, for example) and stored commodities
